Jersey Boys Movie TV Spot: The Fab Cast, the Music, the Turtlenecks & the Sideburns! Wow! #JerseyBoysMovie
May 17th, 2014How cool is this JERSEY BOYS movie 30-second TV spot? The phenomenal cast, the fantastic music from the last 50-plus years, and the sensational scenes?! And, please take note of the costumes and those amazing matching turtlenecks on The Four Seasons and Frankie’s sideburns–totally authentic, circa 1966!

The full cast and crew (crewe?) is shown on The Internet Movie Database. Christopher Walken is Gyp DeCarlo in the movie. Art Vuolo has informed me that Joey Reynolds, the legendary DJ/WOR Talk Show host who debatably first played “Sherry”, and part of the clandestine campaign to promote “Dawn (Go Away)” and get The Four Seasons eventually signed to Philips, is portrayed by an actor in a small part in the movie. Others have asked if any of The Four Seasons will have Alfred Hitchcock/Larry David -esque bit/extra appearances in the movie. Has anyone heard? Here’s the IMDB link.

Somehow the TV commercials make it seem a little more
real and it gave me chills watching it! June 20th can’t come fast enough!

The Turtlenecks and the Sideburns were two of my favorite groups in high school. I think.

During rehearsals, reprising his most famous skit on Saturday Night Live, Christopher Walken demanded to know why The Four Seasons didn’t use a Cowbell in their recordings. Bob Gaudio explained to Christopher that Charlie Calello didn’t have a Cowbell. Walken was VERY disappointed!
OK! OK! I made that up!:)

One day on the set, Jessica Walter showed up and told The Jersey Boys to “Play Misty For Me”. Bob Gaudio explained to Jessica that The Four Seasons never played “Misty”, and that maybe she should go ask Johnny Mathis or Ray Stevens. Just then Clint Eastwood showed up and said “Oh. You again. Get Off My Lawn!”
OK. I made that up too!:)

I just found this up close and personal interview with Frankie Valli, apparently at a recent reception. Not sure what the event was, as it is not clear from the context whether it involves the movie.
