Jersey Boys National Tour Cast Member Injured in Philly; Will Return to Show Tomorrow
December 6th, 2010From BroadwayWorld.com: JERSEY BOYS national tour company member Buck Hujabre suffered an injury during the middle of the December 4th performance at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia, causing the show to come to a halt. He was replaced for the remainder of the performance and rushed to the hospital. BroadwayWorld received the following official statement on the incident:
“In Philadelphia on Saturday, Dec 4, there was a brief show stoppage when a cast member (Buck Hujabre) suffered a minor injury during a scene change. He was quickly replaced so that he could be rushed to the hospital as a precaution. He checked out fine and was released to return home. He will return to the show at the Forrest Theater tomorrow night, Tuesday, Dec 7, for the 7:30pm show.
We wish Buck a speedy recovery!
Not quite as “minor” as it sounds. I was there and Buck was lying unconscious on the floor and was unconscious when they took him across the stage and out to the hospital. He is fine now though as I received an e-mail from him yesterday. Glad to hear he will be back with the show.

So scary! So glad Buck is doing better and will be back on stage. He’s so talented and always so gracious.

A concussion is not an injury to be taken lightly. I’m glad that Buck’s wasn’t a severe concussion, and I’m so pleased that he’s feeling well enough to return to the stage.
I’m also glad I wasn’t at that show…I really think I might have shed a tear if I had seen him taken across the stage on a stretcher.
