Jersey Boys’ Third Quartet Back in San Francisco!

December 3rd, 2007

San Francisco Chronicle’s David Wiegand states that Jersey Boys, back at the Curran again with a third quartet of actors playing the Four Seasons, seems as close to an indestructible musical as any producer could hope for. You could probably cast Kermit, Animal, Bert and Ernie in the lead roles and still have people on their feet cheering at the curtain calls. Fortunately, the casting is a bit better than that.

With a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and the irresistibly infectious music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the show sat down in San Francisco for most of this year, then closed and now returns for a month’s engagement, just in time to offer a tuneful alternative to the staple of “Nutcrackers,” “Christmas Carols” and “Velveteen Rabbits” that dominate the Bay Area live entertainment scene every year.

  2. I am a huge Rick Faugno fan. The only time I’ve seen him perform is as Frankie at the Ahmanson. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to see him as Joe Pesci at the Curran when JB launched the National Tour, but what I did see was a fabulous performance from beginning to end.

I too, will be seeing the show this weekend with Irene, and we are so looking forward to it!
