From BroadwayWorld.com: Stage Entertainment in the Netherlands has issued a casting call for a Dutch version of JERSEY BOYS, the hit musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Directed by Des McAnuff, JERSEY BOYS will open in the Beatrix Theatre Utrecht in September 2013.

To cast the role of Frankie Valli, an open casting call has been opened on LetItCast.com, where hopefuls can upload movie clips in order to be considered for further casting sessions.

The show, featuring hit songs such as ‘Beggin’, ‘Oh, What a Night’, ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’, ‘Sherry’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, opened on Broadway to critical acclaim in 2005. It won prestigious awards, including the 2006 Tony Award and 2009 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical. It is unknown to what extend the libretto will be translated into Dutch.

Stage Entertainment is also involved in the Las Vegas production of JERSEY BOYS as Associate Producer.

  1. I am so proud of this show and all of the casts. I have seen it so many times I feel a little like a proud mama.

  2. Nice to know that, even if getting the JB movie made is like tilting at windmills, at least the play will make it there. I was going to say that when building the sets, the stage crew would get to use their Holland-days saws, but it turns out that Utrecht is a separate province from the two Hollands. Ouch!
