Should Snap Shots Links Stay or Should They Go, Oh, Oh?

The following is an update from the JBB Tech Half. That’s right, the half that did not pass Go, and did not see Jersey Boys this week. I’m the quiet, non-dramatic Bob Gaudio half that is safe in the knowledge that none of all this would have happened without me, and, the blog would look like this image on the right.

So, what are Snap Shots and how does this affect me?

Snap Shots are little balloons that appear next to links that are not within our site. They magically appear when your cursor hovers over the balloons and they give you a preview of the site you would go to if you clicked the link. Kind of like a picture within a picture. They are…shall we say, ubiquitous.

Recently, I have noticed some little glitches in the Snap Shots, so I have turned them off. Perhaps you noticed and you were asking yourself, “where did they go?” or perhaps you were thinking, “Thank you Jesus, they’re gone!”

If you would like to express your opinion, I have created a little poll that will allow you to vote on whether or not the Snap Shots should ultimately stay or go. I have given you three choices: Snap Shots enhance my viewing pleasure; Snap Shots detract from my online experience; or “Other” (a chance to express your opinion).

Thank you for your opinion. I will return you to the blog half and you may resume reading about the extraordinary Broadway phenomenon, Jersey Boys.

  1. Hey, Dale… the Bob Gaudio in the Blog operation, good to hear from you. You may not have been there Tuesday night unfortunately, but you’ve definitely passed ‘Go’. And you are so safe in the knowledge that none of this would have happened without you! (Yikes- that little blue screen there is a powerful & scary thought.)

I say… why not keep the snap shots? They are a useful feature and if they aren’t working at times, so what. There are so many great features on here… the photo displays (which I know the folks at Broadwayworld think are pretty cool), the polls, the music samples.

It’s all great, Dale. If there was a Grammy or a Tony for web design, you’ve got it. How wonderful would it be if those cast members who don’t yet have a site saw the wisdom in having you present them in cyberspace. (Psst… Mark, Sara, Erica to name a few from the NY cast.)

We’re hoping you’ll want to keep working this magic for a long time. I’ve got to believe the producing and creative teams behind this amazing show are as thrilled and grateful to you and Susie as the fans are. They really hit the trifecta on this one! Thanks…
