Tis the Season: Season’s Greetings: A Jersey Boys Christmas, Part One

December 11th, 2011

Okay, two weeks to go until Christmas Eve! However, for many of us, Santa & his reindeer made a special trip way back in October with the phenomenal Seasons Greetings A Jersey Boys Christmas album!

Over the next several days, as we countdown to Christmas, we thought we’d take a little time to really enjoy each of the holiday classics that have a completely fresh twist –thanks to the three wise men ;-) (producer Bob Gaudio, associate producer, musical director & arranger Ron Melrose, and engineer Pete Karam); the fantastic band; the extraordinary background vocalists; and of course, the seven “Frankie’s” from all over the JERSEY BOYS globe!

In his JBB EXCLUSIVE Interview, when asked about his favorite tracks, Ron Melrose stated, “As for trying to pick favorite tracks — every track is on the album for a reason, and every track is an important piece of the puzzle. A couple of the tracks make me giggle, and a couple make me cry…How could I choose?” Ron wasn’t exaggerating!

Do you guys have any personal favorites? Any that you put on ‘repeat’? How ’bout any that make you forget about all the holiday prep work you still have to do–and just make some time for holiday musical joy?

Let’s start out with three of the fantastic tracks today!

Super Smooth Winter Wonderland: Has there ever been a more smooth or more hip rendition of “Winter Wonderland” recorded? For you guys who have seen Rick Faugno as Frankie, or have had the chance to check out either of his awesome one-man shows, it’s not a surprise, but still–it’s a Wow! And please take some time to listen to those “other three seasons”! Forget the holiday do-list for a few minutes & do yourself a favor and really listen to Rick and ‘the boys’! I guarantee you’ll be smiling!

Triple Santa Splendor : Tony Award-winner John Lloyd Young never ceases to amaze us–and his “big three” Santa medley is a special holiday gift to JB fans! JLY and his “Seasons” truly sound like they are having a blast as they belt out “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”! and …One warning: If you’re baking Christmas cookies, you may have so much fun re-playing this one, that you might burn a batch! (Okay, I confess: That happened to me yesterday!)

Joyous Jingle Bell Rock, Bwarie Style! Although “Jingle Bell Rock” was a super smash hit back over 50 years ago for Bobby Helms, it honestly sounds like this song was meant for Joseph Leo Bwarie with his extraordinary vocals! And, be sure to check out those amazing background vocalists, along with some other surprises!

Part Two will feature terrific tracks by Travis Cloer, Bobby Fox, Ryan Molloy, and Jarrod Spector!

  1. This is one of the best Christmas CDs. Every year I buy countless CDs and never seem to find one that has it all, well, this year I finally found one. Thanks to those Three Wise Men.
