Today In Four Seasons Music History: ‘Walk Like A Man’ Topped the Charts, 3/2/1963!

March 2nd, 2014

Fifty-one years ago today, on March 2, 1963, The Four Seasons had their third chart-topper in a row, “Walk Like A Man”! The song, co-written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio, remained in the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three straight weeks.

When asked about the inspiration for “Walk Like A Man,” here’s what Gaudio said in a SunSentinel.com interview, “I wrote that song for the best use of Frankie’s voice. There’s a modulation that allows Frankie’s voice to really ring. I wanted to maximize his full range.”
