From TorontoSun.com: After almost a year playing Tommy DeVito in the Toronto company of Jersey Boys, Canadian Jeremy Kushnier is heading south, to be replaced by Daniel Robert Sullivan, effective June 16.

Kushnier, who opened in Jersey Boys with the touring company but transferred quite happily to the resident company when it was formed, is leaving the hit show at the Toronto Centre for the Arts to go back to New York, where his wife, Jenny Lee Stern, is preparing to give birth to the couple’s first child. A source close to the company says that Kushnier simply wants to take a bit of time to settle into fatherhood, after a long and happy run in the show.

All the best to Jeremy!

  2. At the present time, my “Jersey Boys” count is 37 times. I’ve seen 6-7 different people play Tommy DeVito. Although everyone has been good, two of them have just been outstanding. And Jeremy edges out my other favorite by just enough for me to say he’s the top of the list. I know there are a number of other Jersey Boys fans in the Chicago area — who never wavered in their “Jeremy’s the best” view.

So Congratulations — Best to Jeremy and his family — Happy Fatherhood — and Thanks for the wonderful performances I saw you deliver in San Francisco and Chicago. “My Hand to God” — You’re the best…

  3. Attended show for second time last week in Toronto and Jeremy was giving 100% as he always does. He was terrific as Tommy DeVito. Best wishes

  5. I saw Jeremy a number of times as Tommy in Las Vegas and San Francisco (and before that, as Roger in Rent), and no other Tommy is quite like his — he’ll be missed, but family comes first! Best to him, Jenny Lee and baby Kushnier!

  6. Jeremy is the best! Toronto will miss him – we were so fortunate to have him here for almost a year. Every performance was outstanding – and his Tommy will always be my favourite. Best wishes to Jeremy and Jenny Lee for happiness and good health. Enjoy parenthood! Thank you Jeremy for everything you gave to Jersey Boys Toronto.

  8. I went to see Jeremy play Tommy in Jersey Boys last night (July 3) and to my crushing disappointment he was no longer in the cast. I’ve seen JBs 5 times and have loved Jeremy’s performance all the other times I was there and felt that the cast’s energy was owed to his. I had tried to get his autograph one night back stage but had just missed him. I left my CD with the security guard and a week later my CD arrived by maiil with Jeremy’s signature – class act!!

I’m glad that his departure is for such happy circumstances and send best wishes to he and his wife on their exepected baby. All the best. Hope you perform again in Toronto somewhere in the future.
