Christopher Kale Jones Featured on New Children’s CD: Blue Moo by Sandra Boynton

Jersey Boys’ talented Christopher Kale Jones (www.christopherkalejones.com) is featured on the marvelous upcoming release “Blue Moo: 17 Jukebox Hits from Way Back Never”—the latest Sandra Boynton/Mike Ford musical extravaganza.
(www.sandraboynton.com). It’s a book, a CD, and indeed a way of thinking. All songs are original, modeled after the sounds of specific artists of the ‘50’s, ‘60’s, and ‘70’s and that we play today not only for ourselves, but for our children and grandchildren.
All three prior Boynton/Ford albums—Rhinoceros Tap, Philadelphia Chickens, and Dog Train—have just been certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America.)
All songs are original, with music by Boynton/Ford and lyrics by Boynton, but clearly modeled after certain sounds reflective of the featured artists listed below. In nearly all cases, Boynton was able to recruit the artists to sing the songs of their respective sounds. In a few rare instances, Boynton recruited some new talent, including our own Christopher Kale Jones, singing the first cut on the CD, “Singin’ in the Showerâ€. Chris Jones—you could have a classic on your hands that moms will sing to their newborns for many years to come. The link also has the catchy words and refrain to “Singin’ in the Showerâ€!
Almost as thrilling as seeing Chris sing on Boynton’s website is seeing the original artists—and what they look like today—singing the other cuts on the CD.

Boynton traveled throughout the country to record Sedaka, Lawrence, King, Vee, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the Jones boys—Davey and Christopher Kale. Chris tells me Sandra is one of the nicest people with whom he’s collaborated in the business. For those JB fans with young children or grandchildren who are seeking appropriate entertainment, or anyone who just wants to hear these great artists in action I think this is not only a fun purchase, but a wonderful reminder of Chris’s amazing voice and talent. For those who’ve seen Chris light up the stage in Jersey Boys, it will also memorialize his great pipes on CD.
Chris, so many of us knew you were multi-talented, and this proves it. Just the fact of Boynton/Ford recording you alongside these legends speaks volumes. We’ll be looking for you on the Billboard charts.

Anyone else notice that the accompaniment of Chris’s song sounds very similar to “Sherry”?

I too noticed the “Sherry” connection to Chris’s song. I was fascinated by the creation and production of this unique project. I am going to be sure I purchase it. Thank you, Howard, for letting us know about it.

Howard, that’s great that JB is opening up so many more avenues for Chris, and that more people are learning of his talent, which you speak of- so often. You and Susie have both said what a nice person he is to collaborate with.
I’m sure this is just part of even more career venues for Chris. By the way, do you know how Sandra found him for this project; that part of any story is always fascinating… wondering if she saw him in the show.
Thanks for sharing this, Howard. Sandra’s interview was certainly interesting and yes, I detected the Sherry connection, too. Having written a book myself, I loved Sandra’s reflecting on that whole aspect of the process as well. She sounds like a woman who is very happy with her life.
I’ll be on the lookout for this CD on Thursday; it’ll make a great gift… for myself and others.
