Tis the Season: Season’s Greetings: A Jersey Boys Christmas, Part Five!
December 22nd, 2011
Okay, are you guys counting down to the JERSEY BOYS Broadway appearance on the TODAY Show tomorrow morning?! In honor of their upcoming performance, let’s highlight three more fantastic holiday tracks from Seasons Greetings: A Jersey Boys Christmas album!
Before we begin, let’s do a shout-out to the fantastic band on this recording! Along with his magnificent job as musical director, arranger, and associate producer on the album, Ron Melrose is phenomenal on keyboards; on those amazing drums, there’s Ken Dow, who has been the drummer for JB since the first day in La Jolla & now on Broadway; and Larry Saltzman, who does an awesome job on guitar!
Little Drummer Bwarie-Style: I can’t get enough of Joseph Leo Bwarie’s rendition of “Little Drummer Boy”–as he tells his story with that awesome voice! Kudos to his “three seasons” on their additional heavenly “pa rum pum pum pums”!
Angels From the Realms of Glory, 80s Style: Listen to that beat with Bobby Fox’s gorgeous falsetto! “Joyful, joyful…” we adore this track!
Do You Hear The Heavenly Voice That I Hear? How about Rick Faugno’s ability to tell a story in a song? A few years ago, I asked Rick if there was anything that Frankie Valli has taught him about singing. He told me that Frankie said the song itself is important, but it’s more about the story you’re telling to the audience. Rick obviously took Frankie’s advice on this powerful and emotional rendition of “Do You Hear What I Hear?”–didn’t he?!
