2005—Broadway’s Highest Grossing Year!!

According to the League of American Theatres and Producers, 2005 is Broadways highest grossing calendar year of all time and the second highest in paid attendance. Broadway has grossed a record-breaking $825 million in New York for the 2005 calendar year s up 10.2 % from the 2004 total of $749 million.

The staying power of musicals, including diverse offerings such as Jersey Boys, The Woman in White, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sweeney Todd, and The Light in the Piazza may have been part of 2005’s record breaking year!
