Eagle Tribune Says Jersey Boys Natl Tour ‘Delivers It All’!

December 23rd, 2010

Another rave review for the JERSEY BOYS national tour production in Boston! Check out a preview of Al Getler’s review from the Eagle Tribune:

Great music. A solid story line. Fast scene transitions. A talented cast. More great music.

That’s a lot to ask from one night at the theater. “Jersey Boys” delivers it all.

The staging of “Jersey Boys” is smart. Liechtenstein-style illustrations take the audience through the story on digital screens. Everything from chain-linked fence to a familiar Jersey skyline give mood to the show. Scene changes are fast, props rolled away as if by magic.

This ambitious piece of work probably ran the risk of missing the mark as much as it has become a sold-out Broadway performance. From score, to writing, acting and directing, “Jersey Boys” is a hit.

Witness the woman sitting next to us who clearly was transported to another time and place in her life. The experience was evident on her face. Not every show can do that to a person.

You don’t have to remember the era to enjoy “Jersey Boys.” Teens and up will like the show.

Sure, it has some racy language and adult content, but what credible show about New Jersey wouldn’t?
