Farewell and Best Wishes to Lauren Marshall!

June 8th, 2008

By Lauren Avila, Jersey Boys Blog Special Correspondent

She captured our hearts as Frankie’s girlfriend, Lorraine, along with many other characters. Unfortunately, now the time’s come for Lauren Marshall “to get off the merry-go-round.” As a powerful singer, Lauren thrilled audiences with exciting numbers such as “Ces Soirees-La,” “My Boyfriend’s Back,” and “Who Loves You.” She also brought a touch of comedy and drama in various roles, from a flirty club-goer to a sympathetic nurse. In addition to being a superb actress and singer, Lauren is also a lovely person as anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her would know. Oh, what a journey it’s been. Enthralling fans young and old, in San Francisco and Chicago, plus participating in an unforgettable performance on the Emmy Awards, this girl has done it all. Something that was consistent other than her onstage precision was her genuine love of being in this show especially back home in Chicago. Lauren, your passion and joy absolutely showed in your performance. Thank you for your fantastic year with Jersey Boys. Good luck!

  1. Oh no!! I’m gonna miss you Lauren. You had the best “See, I told you it wasn’t no vision!!” delivery. You were just superb as one of the Jersey Girls and your break-up scene with Frankie always got to me. Best wishes to you in your future endeavors and thanks for all your smiles for us in the rush row during “Oh What a Night” at the end of the performances at The Curran. You always acknowledged us.

  5. After watching you with the San Francisco/Chicago cast in both cities, it’s been great meeting you, especially when running into you backstage with my kids or at the stagedoor of the Curran theatre.

Your portrayal of the “church lady” as well as one of the principal “Jersey Girls” has been very entertaining and hope that a wide spectrum of future roles will open up because you’re a great person as well as one heck of an actress!

The Jersey Boys family of actors and fans alike will definitely miss your presence! Take care and good luck!
