Broadway.com recently chatted with Broadway JERSEY BOYS’ Frankie Valli, Jarrod Spector to reflect on his personal highlights over the past year and what his hopes are for 2011:

Highlight of 2010: “Billy Joel (my ‘idol,’ if I were to choose only one) attended Jersey Boys a few months back and was nice enough to come backstage and meet the cast. He immediately asked me, “How do you sing like that?” I thought he was just being kind, but he was truly asking the question. We talked about it, and those five minutes when I had the privilege to ‘jaw’ with Billy Joel about the art of singing were some of the most memorable of my year.”

Resolution for 2011: “There are definitely things I can and will do to help the planet and my fellow humans. But in stark contrast to that kind of selflessness, my resolution this year is to stop apologizing for the things I want and, instead, to aggressively go after them.”

  1. Seeing Jarrod was definitely one of the highlights of my 2010! Hope to get back to NY to see him again. I’ll never forget the first time we saw him as Frankie in Chicago. He moved us to tears!

  3. Jarrod is my first and only Frankie that I have seen. I follow Jarrod to all events that he performs at and NEVER DISAPPOINTED! I will continue to follow him where ever he goes. He is the most sweet and kind man I have ever met. Always makes a person smile, I could have the worst day possible but all I have to do is come home and view some videos of Jarrod singing or just turn to the frames on the walls in my house and see all the pictures I have with Jarrod. Everything possible that I can put Jarrod’s picture of songs on I have it. Nothing like waking up at 5AM to the sound of Jarrod singing- I do that every time my alarm goes off.

  4. I love the honesty of Jarrod’s answers. Good for him! And I, too, was very moved by his performance on B’way.
