  2. Congratulations to both Jarrod and Dominic.

Dom, not quite a year ago, Susie Skarl and Susanne Tighe gave me the honor of interviewing you for this very Blog, and it was so great to get to know you as a person as well as the talented, versatile performer you are.

I’ve seen you once as Tommy and twice as Bob, and so many times as a swing. You noted that you were with the show from the beginning in La Jolla, and explained that the job of a swing entails a lot more than meets the eye. We talked about your being in “Grease” in Germany for an extended period and about your classic comedic horror flick “Zombie Prom”, which I viewed on You Tube. (Still waiting for that DVD, Dom!)

Chatting with you was indeed one of my most fun times since “Jersey Boys” began. I explained that my friend Jana Robbins was celebrating her 60th at the Laurie Beechman; you pondered whether she and I were having a dual 60th celebration, and I had to remind you that I still had several years left before that milestone! (There’s a backstory here that I’ll leave to the reader’s imagination). Second, as John Leone came in, saw us chatting, and left abruptly, you opined he probably thinks I’m the new Frankie and wanted to give you, as the asst dance captain, some time to train me!!

Seriously, perhaps the best validation of all was that your Dad commented on the Blog article, showing the love that exists within your family.

You’ve made it to the top, Dom, and I’m very happy for you. Patience is indeed a virtue. You’ll be a marvelous Tommy.

  3. Congratulations to all of the guys! If they even offer half the talent of Sebastian Arcelus, the new cast will continue to make us proud. The original cast…tough shoes to fill! The plans have been announced for Christian Hoff and Bobby Spencer, but where is Michael Longoria going…we will miss him!

  4. Howard, you’ve referred to a few tidbits from your piece with Dominic last November, but I bet there are new JB Blog followers who’d enjoy reading the full interview. :-)

And to the wonderful Broadway cast…”I like the blend.” Like the evolving Four Seasons over the many years, there is always a new horizon just ahead.
