Jersey Babys CD Update!

Jersey Babys

News about the Jersey Babys CD! Along with Amazon.com and Rhino, the “Jersey Babys” CD is now available in Barnes and Noble, Best Buy and Virgin Records and FYE and J & R records!

Reviewers are also taking note of this marvelous CD! In the 6/7/08 edition of the New York Post, Charlie Heller reviewed “Jersey Babys”! Heller states The Four Seasons, popular once again thanks to Broadway’s Jersey Boys, are targeting younger ears. Bob Gaudio, chief songwriter of the ’60s group, was persuaded to make kiddie versions of tunes such as “Rag Doll” and “Sherry” for his daughter’s own children to enjoy.

Heller noted that the album is made up of pleasant instrumentals using keyboard, synth, flute and xylophone sounds that would probably be ideal for younger children to relax to but won’t grate on parents. I enjoyed the new versions more after hearing the originals first. You might want to use this album as a supplement to the real recordings for more variety.

According to Cincinati Parent, fans of the popular show will get a kick out of the CD’s laid-back, relaxing melodies. Tracks like the medley of “Sherry” and “Walk Like a Man” could easily prove too much for little ears, but the arrangements directed by Robby Robinson, Frankie Valli’s longtime musical director and keyboard player, give us a perfect blend of music to recollect and relax with.

  1. It’s not only a great cd for children, but also an excellent tool for future “Jersey Boys” cast members to practice with and also for those “sing-alongs” when long airline and roadtrips warrant it.

My airline trip last weekend to Chicago and NYC to watch both casts was supplemented with my IPod blasting the OBC cast recording, Jersey Babys songs downloaded from Amazon.com and the OBC cast “mix” given to me by the SF Cast (Jarrod & Co.) at a past public appearance.

Thanks to Danielle Gaudio-Lalehzar for her very excellent musical contribution to Jersey Boys and it’s fans.
