Jersey Boys–A Sure-Fire Hit Down Under!

July 14th, 2009

Jersey Boys LogoRave reviews for JERSEY BOYS Melbourne are ubiquitous! Here are the latest:

TheDramaTeacher.com: Jersey Boys recently opened at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre to thundering applause. Bobby Fox is fabulous as Frankie Valli, with a falsetto voice that will make you close your eyes and imagine you were there (or sing along in the audience just a little too loud like I did!). The supporting roles of Tommy de Vito (Scott Johnson), Bob Gaudio (Stephen Mahy) and Glaston Toft (Nick Massi) all get plenty of action.

As musical theatre goes, Jersey Boys is thoroughly entertaining and a great night out.

John Daly-Peoples, National Business Review (New Zealand): The show at times feels like a documentary showing how the band evolved. We get a sense of how bands get to be successful with the various components of song writer, singer, manager and musicians all having to contribute and fame comes when all those people with their skills line up to create a hit.

It’s a fast paced show with multiple mini set changes and a string of crowd pleasing numbers. The singing is fabulous and their act is quite possibly slicker than the original band.
