Jersey Boys Are Big Men In Beantown!

Boston critics are continuing their praise of the JERSEY BOYS national tour! Here are the latest:
Jenna Scherer, Boston Herald: “Jersey Boys†is at its best when the guys are performing or talking business. The script smartly allows each band member to play narrator in turn, allowing for a kaleidoscopic viewpoint.
The most spectacular thing about “Jersey Boys,†and what draws audiences like moths to a flame, is the incredible talent and stamina of its four leads. Belting out 30-odd choreographed songs every night, it’s just amazing to watch these fellow go. Bwarie’s Valli-like falsetto is impeccable, Bailey brings dangerous energy to DeVito and Gouveia nails the quiet, put-upon air of a bass player. Franklin has charisma to spare, and his Gaudio is the show’s most compelling narrator.
Just like the Four Seasons’ music, “Jersey Boys†goes down easy and will probably be around for a long time to come.
Alicia Blaisdell-Bannon, SouthCoastToday.com: “Jersey Boys” is divided into four parts — spring, summer, fall and winter (the four seasons!) — and the otherwise goofy conceit does allow their story to be told by the four singers who, not surprisingly, have different takes on how the group rose.
What we did know is how the Four Seasons could harmonize, and these four personable actors re-create that exciting sound with a lot of enthusiasm and chemistry — and some nice dance moves to boot. If Wednesday night’s standing-ovation crowd is any evidence, clapping and singing “Oh, What a Night” as they walked out into a humid Boston evening.
This cast is awesome…they have great chemistry! Every time I visit NY, I always find myself back at August Wilson again and again. After seeing the national tour in Atlanta, I am now trying to figure out a way to get to another city on the national tour. These guys really leave an impression!
