Jersey Boys Book Hits The Streets TODAY!

October 16th, 2007

Broadway Books releases a companion book to the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys TODAY!

Written by David Cote, the 176-page hardcover is titled “Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons.”

“Like the show itself, this gorgeous, full-color companion book captures the magic and the original excitement of the band’s life and times through all-new interviews with the band members,” reads a book description.

It’s honestly more than a companion book–it’s both a print masterpiece and a keepsake for both fans of Jersey Boys and fans of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons! The book is divided into four chapters: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. In addition to charting the journeys of the chart-topping group and the Tony Award-winning musical, the book includes the show’s libretto; interviews with the show’s cast, writers, and director; and interviews with the original Four Seasons.

That’s not all! There are over 200 photos from Jersey Boys, from the band members’ personal collections (wait until you see this classic shot of Tommy DeVito in the ’60s swinging a golf club!), and rarely seen memorabilia . Charles Alexander has provided a marvelous foreword and 4 Seasons discography and a few die-hard Four Seasons fans (including me!) were asked: Where were you when you first heard The Four Seasons?

“Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons” companion book is a wonderful collection of stories, photos, and memorabilia that you will not be able to put down!

  2. Thanks for the plug, Susie, and the excellent description. Leaving aside the 10 pages I wrote, this book really is a treasure trove for both JB/Four Seasons fans. Principal writer/interviewer David Cote and editor Holly Rothman did a fanatastic job. It’s one of the most beautiful and fascinating books I’ve ever seen. Cheers, Charles

  3. I got my copy yesterday and I started reading it today and I love it. I love it, it’s definetly a must have for any Jersey Boys fan or Four Seasons fan.

The only gripe I have about the book is that when I skimmed through the libretto, I noticed there were some lines missing like the scene between Frankie and Tommy after “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” that starts with the two types of women, as well as the scene at Frankie’s house the day that Gaudio runs in with Sherry.

  4. I just received my copy. Charles, what a beautiful piece you have written.
As I was perusing the book, I became “humbled and teary eyed” to think I have been blessed to be part of this phenomenal experience.

I can’t give you anything but praise – to the cast, the creative team, the writers, the fans! IE

  5. I also received my copy of the Jersey Boys Book Yesterday. I was surprised at the size of the book. I had no idea it was going to be this large! I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is so interesting! I also heard on ET that Frankie Valli will be on tommorrow night, ( Thursday @ 7:30 PM channel 2 WCBS-TV ). I guess they made a mistake of a week, they showed a scene of him singing “MY GIRL “. Can’t wait. Thea
