Jersey Boys First Natl Tour to Conclude Where It All Began in San Francisco, 4/28!

From Playbill.com: The first national tour of the Tony-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will play its final performance at the SHN Curran Theatre April 28. Performances at the San Francisco venue began March 9.
Upon closing, the first national tour of the hit musical will have played a total of 2,598 performances. The second national tour continues with no end currently in sight.
The cast of the first national tour is led by Nick Cosgrove (Frankie Valli), John Gardiner (Tommy DeVito), Miles Jacoby (Bob Gaudio) and Michael Lomenda (Nick Massi) as The Four Seasons, with Jonathan Hadley and Donnie Kehr. The ensemble comprises Tommaso Antico, Christopher DeAngelis, Lauren Decierdo, Frankie J. Galasso, Miguel Jarquin-Moreland, Justin Lonesome, Mauricio Pérez, Timothy Quinlan, Kyli Rae, Brian Silverman, Sam Strasfeld, Leslie Taylor, Kara Tremel, Mark Verdino and Adam Zelasko.

I have so many wonderful memories of this tour. It was the first time I ever saw “Jersey Boys” here in Houston in 2008. Then I got to see them in Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Chicago. Even better is the fact that I got to meet and greet many of these wonderful cast members at the various stage doors. I wish all of the past and current cast members continued success in all of their future endeavors…and THANKS for the memories.

I had the opportunity to see the first national tour twice. Both times the role of Frankie was played by the fantastic Joseph Leo Bwarie. I’ll never forget his wonderful performances. Must also say that I was also very impressed by the memorable performance of Michael Lomenda. He brought amazing depth to the role of Nick Massi.

I’m tipping my hat (if I had a hat) to the company of actors, musicians, stage managers, crew, and walking like half a man without this magnificent tour. I remember our first rehearsal for the tour in New York, the first performance in SF – an invited dress when a technical glitch stopped the show for an hour, the glorious opening on December 10, 2006, with Frankie, Bob, Tommy, Bob Crewe…and George Lucas! I’ve read every review from all the cities, made dozens of friends nationwide and in Canada – fans of the show all brought together by the Seasons’ music. And I’ve beamed with pride as this remarkable group raised more than $2million for charity. What a ride! We’re all so lucky, every one of us, to have been part of bringing so much pleasure to so many people. Thanks to everybody, onstage, backstage, and out front – for showing up and for shining so bright. Much love from a very grateful author.

Wow! That was beautiful, Rick! I want to thank everyone who has been involved with the 1st National Tour for the wonderful memories. Sorry to see it end. Congratulations on your amazing run!
