The big musical playing this week at Appleton’s showcase hall is called “Jersey Boys.” It comes with a story with a strut of “joy-zee boyz” – a bit tough, a bit seamy, a bit cocky and a bunch foul mouthed while also lacing together a long train of Top Ten hits like colorful boxcars. That “story” part (of the subtitle of “The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons”) is what gives the show interest, gusto, vigor and, to use a showbiz word, legs.Folks really like this show. The energy level at the end of Tuesday’s 2¾-hour performance was right up there with rushes at rock concerts or for Green Bay Packers touchdowns.
