Jersey Boys Receives Four Stars in Sacramento!
September 10th, 2007Sacramento Bee’s Theater Critic Marcus Crowder states that the electrifying new Broadway Sacramento presentation of Jersey Boys succeeds on many levels – much like the popular band whose story it tells. Just as the best musical groups are more than the sum of their individual parts, the production fuses numerous elements into a resoundingly cohesive whole, elevating several genres in the process. It’s dramatic biography, cultural history and jukebox musical wrapped in an entertaining package of contemporary stagecraft and old-fashioned storytelling. The production, directed by Des McAnuff, lifts popular entertainment to a level of art with its breathless pace while conductor Andrew Miller leads the exquisite band through snappy charts.

I could have given The Sacramento Bee the review ahead of time. The show never disappoints it is always a hit. It has great writing, great music, great actors and great direction, how could you lose. I saw the show on opening night and WOW it was great. I have seen the show in New York 4 times and seeing again in my hometown was awesome. Christopher Kale Jones is great as “Frankie”. The guys all did a great job. Everyone should see this show, it is so uplifting and makes you feel good when you leave the show. If you go I guarantee you will not be disappointed, on the contrary I guarantee will be be singing and dancing all the way out. Do yourselves a favor and whenever Jersey Boys comes to your town make an effort to see it.

The show was fantastic. My son who hates musicals (he is 17 – hates lots of things) LOVED it! My whole family had a wonderful night – the cast was splendid especially the three principal Seasons.
