News on J. Robert Spencer Directing ‘Forevermore’

December 20th, 2007

Fangoria.com has news on FOREVERMORE, a vampire film that will be directed by J. Robert Spencer! According to producer Antonio Saillant, FOREVERMORE revolves around “Jake Williams, a husband who vows ‘forevermore’ to his wife Rachel in the gift of a pendant. He continues, “Unbeknownst to him, the pendant holds the blood of a 300-year-old Lithuanian vampire, and once the blood is unleashed, his bride becomes one of the undead.

“As committed as Jake was to loving her, he is now forced to be just as committed to destroying her,” says Antonio Saillant, who scripted and will produce the movie with Spencer and Ian and Eshom Nelms. “When Rachel wins an arm-wrestling match in a bar against a drunken lout, only to be called a ‘bitch’ by the loser, what else can she do but pull out her fangs, crush his hand to a bloody pulp and stick a pool stick up his ass till it juts out his mouth?”

What follows is a “a chain of events leading Jake on a violent rampage of supernatural gore across a bleak desert landscape as he hunts his infected wife,” Saillant says. “With the help of a small-town sheriff named Lynn, he must stop Rachel and her coven of bloodthirsty vampires, who are on a hell-bent mission to release the ‘Maker of the Pendant,’ who awaits in a cold grave in a cavern somewhere down in Mexico.”

A lofty concept indeed, although given that FOREVERMORE is budgeted at $5 million, it is one which the team (also including producer Tai Burkholder) is optimistic they can pull off. With principal photography planned for next summer in Mexico, a casting announcement for FOREVERMORE is expected soon, as is word on who’ll tackle the film’s billiard bloodshed and other makeup FX.

Congratulations and all the best to Bobby on FOREVERMORE!
