Trujillo and McAnuff Excited About Coming Home to Toronto!
June 5th, 2008Jersey Boys starts performances in Toronto on August 21 in a Dancap production at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. Theatre Critic Richard Ouzounian of the Toronto Star notes that both JB choreographer Sergio Trujillo and director Des McAnuff started their careers in Toronto but have become worldclass theatre artists.
According to the critic, Toronto audiences have every reason to be thrilled by the arrival of this musical biography of the legendary 1960s singing group The Four Seasons, but they’re not nearly as pumped as Trujillo.
Interviewed in Las Vegas on the opening night there, all he could talk about was its upcoming engagement in his old hometown.
“Des and I are both very proud of our heritage and are so excited to be coming home again.â€

Toronto is also my hometown. i would love to see JB there. I know Canadians will love the show, because I grew up listening to the Four Seasons music there. I didn’t move to the USA until 1966, and their first three main hits as well as “Oh What A Night” made the charts while I was still living there.
