Actress Valerie Harper Praises Jersey Boys

January 21st, 2006

Broadwayworld’s Beau Higgins recently met up with Emmy-award winning actress Valerie Harper in a hotel in Columbus, Ohio, where she was currently starring as Golda Meir in William Gibson’s Golda’s Balcony. In addition to talking about her stage and television career, TV’s Rhoda talked about the many Broadway productions of the past and present that have moved her. Here’s what she said about the smash hit Jersey Boys:

I wasn’t a big fan of Frankie Valli back in the day. But when you hear “Sherry, Sherry Baby,” and all those great songs. It is beautifully directed and you would love the stagecraft.

  1. I WAS A FAN OF FRANKIE VALLI, BUT JOHN LLOYD YOUNG IS UNCANNY. I SAW FRANKI LIVE 3 MONTHS AGO, HIS RANGE HAS CHANGED,BUT HE STILL HITS THOSE HIGH NOTES. JOHN IS A YOUNGER VALLI, WITH A SMOOTHER VOICE.
