Atlanta Adores Jersey Boys!

Wendell Brock notes the Broadway ensemble he saw recently has nothing on the national tour that is playing at the Fox Theatre through June 21. Directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, “Jersey Boys†is a virtually seamless musical entertainment that transcends generational appeal to tell a good story.
Josh Franklin nicely captures the warmth and charisma of Bob Gaudio. Matt Bailey is perfect as the good-looking but vile Tommy DeVito. And just when you think Nick Massi has been rendered pretty much invisible, Steve Gouveia (a member of the original Broadway cast) comes around to give him his say.
As Bob Crewe, the group’s swishy producer, lyricist and deal-maker, Jonathan Hadley is fun to watch. Courter Simmons’ Joe Pesci (“yes, that Joe Pesciâ€) is a comedic bundle of nasality and nervousness. But the real find here is Joseph Leo Bwarie, who proves himself a top-notch vocalist, agile dancer and superb actor. Charting the highs and lows of this ultimate survivor, Bwarie is terrific.

Attended a great show with the Tour group Jersey Boys September 08 in Toronto. This was Joseph Leo’s initial
lead as Frankie and he was truly outstanding.I am so pleased Atlanta has the opportunity to see and hear this fabulous show. This production was extended for over 2 months. A terrific Canadian cast has continued since the tour “boys” left for Denver. I will be seeing the show this Weds.

Yes…Atlanta does adore these Jersey Boys! So happy they finally made it to our town.

Loved the Atlanta Jersey Boys!! It was tremendous and I plan to return before the run is over.
