Australian Jersey Boys Sad To Be Leaving Melbourne
July 24th, 2010
JERSEY BOYS Australia’s Four Seasons: Stephen Mahy (Bob Gaudio), Scott Johnson (Tommy DeVito), Glaston Toft (Nick Massi), and Bobby Fox (Frankie Valli)
The four Jersey Boys, who are packing their bags after living in Melbourne for the past year, have given Melbourne a generally positive report card – except for the street violence that plagues the city.
The show wraps up on Sunday night at the Princess Theatre and the four boys – Bobby Fox, Stephen Mahy, Scott Johnson and Glaston Toft – were full of praise of Melbourne’s transport, culture, bars and theatre-loving crowd.
After the curtain comes down on the phenomenally successful show the boys will have a few weeks off before going to Sydney.
The year-long run, which has injected millions into the city’s economy, has seen regular full houses.
Melbourne will always have a special place in the four boys’ hearts because of that.
“I’d love an excuse to come back to Melbourne and I’ve had a great time coming back,” Johnson said.
“Just working in this area with all the theatre, it has a lovely, romantic feel about it which makes it a special city in Australia.”
