  1. Dream cast will be hard to pick–so much talent out there. My concern is they will “go Hollywood” (ie Rock of Ages movie) and not draw from the great pool of talented theater actors who have worked on Jersey Boys.

  2. Dream cast will be hard to pick. But, I’m really hoping they decide to go with some actors who can really sing & play the music for the parts, such as the current actors performing in these roles. I can’t wait to contribute to the polls. First & foremost, I would vote for Joseph Leo Bwarie to play Frankie for sure. He has the talent to sing, dance & act the part. He even has prior movie experience. He’s the whole package wrapped up in one!

  3. I vote to have the current Broadway Cast do the movie. If that is not possible then PLEASE don’t just get anyone to play the roles, it will be a shame for someone like Tom Cruise to botch up a fabulous, outstanding Musical.

  4. The national tour cast should do the movie…from the main 4 Jersey Boys to the swings to John Edwards who starts the show with a bang. Joseph Leo Bwarie is the only Frankie they should consider but the entire national tour cast is incredible. Picking the Dream cast should not be hard. The tour cast should at the very least be given auditions. Seems pretty simple to me.

  5. I have seen four companys do the show and they are all great! BUT….the Vegas boys are by far the best. Travis, Deven, Jeff and Peter! why break up a perfect set?

  6. I’ve seen four casts (OBC, Chicago, Vegas, Tour) and loved them all, but Jarrod would definitely get my vote for the lead.

  7. With a galaxy of both explosive and subtle talent and experience, genuine and generous hearts, a brotherhood and sisterhood called family, and concrete connections with “Tour Fans”, this entire cast should be moved to the set of the Jersey Boys movie. Applause & Adulation Abound for this fabulous production in its entirety.
Those who care, those who listen,, PLEASE HEAR this!

  8. Referring to Item #7: i The Cast and production described in my commentary #7 is the Jersey Boys National Tour with Joseph Leo Bwarie playing the part of Frankie Valli each person, actor, actress, musician, singer, dancer, stage attendant, wardrobe/dresser, van driver, program/CD vendor, director, EVERYONE… makes a show that shouts joy and substance and success.

  9. I have seen OBC, Vegas, London and the tour. It would be my vote to see Joseph Leo Bwarie as Frankie. But my hope is that at the very least, the current cast members get first consideration. The flavor of the story is altered if Big Names are cast instead of those who have so clearly and well brought the JB story to life on stage. Don’t mess with the formula, I guess is what I’m thinking.

  11. My vote goes to the original cast on Broadway. They have been tough to beat in my eyes and I really would love for them to be considered.

  12. Hopefully they will not go the usual Hollywood route and will pick the cream of the crop from all the productions around the world from when the show opened up in 2005 to present.

  13. Currently, there are so many wonderful stage actors that could do an amazing job in the movie roles. But my vote goes to the Original-orginal Broadway cast – John Lloyd Young, J.Robert Spencer, Christian Hoff and Daniel Reichard. They had a chemistry between them that was so obvious that the audiance felt it throughout the show. Hope they are considered for the movie roles. My second choices would be Jarrod Specter, Michael Ingersol, Devan May, Eric Bergen. Can’t wait for this movie to start taking shape. 2013 seems like such a long time away!!!

  14. My idea is to have past & current Jersey Boys cast members make cameos throughout the movie. That’ll make the us die hard fans happy to see “our” guys & gals on the big screen.

  15. [...] it is is a go. It is being written by the same people that wrote the Broadway show. Here is the JB Blog update. I’ll also add a nice song that almost never was released. Hope you enjoy it. Let’s [...]

  16. Hard to go against the Original cast. They are the ones who brought national and world-wise prominence as well as the “Tony’s” to the show. I would have no problem with Tony Award winning John Lloyd Yong in the lead and fellow Tony Award winner Christian Hoff as Tommy. Daniel was excellent as Bob and J. Robert equally as good as Nick.
But, Joe Pesci must play Gyp DeCarlo …

  17. Just saw Jersey Boys for the second time in Cleveland in two years. Joseph Leo Bewarie should play Frankie
Valli for sure. However, there were a lot of changes in the production I say compared to what I say 2 years ago and the first production was better. Does anyone know why the changes were made in the production? These changes included dialogue, some song changes etc.

  18. I vote for John Lloyd Young and the original broadway cast to star in the movie. Best voices, best chemistry.
