Check Out Omaha.com’s Visit with JB Castmates Denise Payne, Quinn VanAntwerp, & Kevin Worley!

Marvelous coverage all over Omaha with the JB national tour’s debut in Nebraska this week! Below is a preview to Michael Kelly’s write-up at the JERSEY BOYS “launch party” for the nonprofit Omaha Performing Arts that featured several cast members Denise Payne, Quinn VanAntwerp, and Kevin Worley. Check out the excerpt below:

“It’s so nice being in a show where the audience energy feeds your own energy,” Denise said after arriving Wednesday in Omaha. “There’s such an amazing relationship, such give and take. At the end, I love seeing the look on people’s faces, knowing they’re going home singing some of the songs.”

Kevin Worley grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and played sports at Jefferson High School. He, too, plays multiple roles, which you’d think might be confusing — but costumes are all lined up in the right order.

“I know what character I’m doing by the costume I’m wearing,” Kevin said. “If I’m wearing my accountant glasses, I know where I am.”

Quinn Vanantwerp, from southern California, plays Bob Gaudio, the Four Seasons singer who wrote the group’s songs. After three years, Sunday will be his last in the touring show — he got a promotion to the New York cast, his Broadway debut, akin to a minor league ballplayer getting called up by the Yankees.

“Most people around the world see the touring show, which is just as good (as Broadway) if not better,” Quinn said. “On tour, we play bigger houses, which are louder and really exciting.”
