Reporter Paul Hyde has a marvelous feature story with JERSEY BOYS creators Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice that includes a short video clip with Marshall. Below is a sneak peek:

What accounts for the show’s popularity?

“The music is great and it’s a good story,” Brickman said. “It has everything in it. It has love, it has loyalty, it has jealousy, it has humor, and it’s about a kind of family — The Four Seasons. We cram a lot into two-and-a-half hours without it seeming overstuffed.”

Added Elice, “The audience responds more like a rock concert audience than a musical audience. That created an electricity from the very first performances.”
