Des McAnuff and Jeff Madden Win Dora Awards!
June 29th, 2009THIS JUST IN: The Star.com reports that Jersey Boys, the Tony-Award winning musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, earned two Doras, including directing honors for Des McAnuff and a performance award for Jeff Madden of the Toronto JB cast!
Congratulations to Des McAnuff, Jeff Madden, and to all of the JERSEY BOYS Toronto nominees!
Just saw Jersey Boys tonight in Toronto. Jeff Madden won my heart, he is a consummate performer/actor. He deserved the Dora and any other award going. The cast is perfect; fabulous timing, delivery – the works! Congratulations on putting on and maintaining a show that feels as fresh as it must have the first you put it on. (And the set, the production – spectacular!)
In the 60s, I was not a Frankie Valli Four Seasons fan (more Brit, folk and classical), but this show has turned me around. I guess their music, in spite of myself, had got under my skin.
You must hear this all the time; thank you for a terrific experience.
