Fantastic Short Film Directed by @PhilipBulcock Featuring Four Seasons’ Everybody Knows My Name!

December 5th, 2015

Original JERSEY BOYS London cast member Philip Bulcock, who played Nick Massi, has directed a fantastic short film featuring “Everybody Knows My Name” and is now available to view on Youtube!

Written by Bob Gaudio, this song was on The Four Seasons’ 1966 album Working My Way Back To You And More Great New Hits and it is also featured on the 2007 Jersey Beat box set.

The film features the actors who played The Four Seasons in the original cast of the London production of JERSEY BOYS: Ryan Molloy, Stephen Ashfield, Glenn Carter and Bulcock himself.

In Act Two, Frankie says (to us): …and Nicky was right–the soap keeps getting smaller and the nights keep getting longer. And I’m haunted by this one song Bobby wrote:

“I climbed the ladder of success
I’m one step higher than the rest
I’ve got the guts, I’ve passed the test.
Believe me, friend, that’s all there is.
There ain’t no more.
But if you’ve got a home and family,
You’ve got much more than me.”

I love this short film–the vocals, the direction, the cast, the scenery–it was all great! For more details on this short film, visit: www.everybodyknowsmyname.com

  1. Thanks for posting. This is one of my favourite Four seasons song and the ‘lost’ song in Jersey Boys. A beautiful melody and fantastic lyrics. Hopefully filling a gap in some JB fans knowledge…. 2. I found this to be wonderfully atmospheric, so much so that i felt as if i were actually in the room getting a private glimpse of the effects of fame at it’s highest level. I could feel the despair and isolation. Gritty and real this short is filled with talent. It says everything without saying a word.

  3. I adore this short film. It manages to say so much without a single word being spoken. It’s a very atmospheric piece – very classy and stylish without being too arty. The fact that it features the Original London Jersey Boys is a bonus, obviously. Ryan Molloy’s voice is a dream and to see the original four together is always special.
I hope this film gets the recognition it deserves. Philip Bulcock is a talented director with a real feel for the material he’s working with.

  4. Wow. Thanks for giving much deserved attention to this wonderful short film. I knew it would fit in here perfectly. Philip Bulcock did a great job setting the tone and the performances by Ryan Molloy, Glenn Carter, Stephen Ashfield and Bulcock himself fit perfectly. Having a great song to work with didn’t hurt. Congrats to all.
