Frankie Valli Celebrates Six Decades in the Spotlight

May 1st, 2009

Frankie Valli will be headlining the 27th annual Pacer Center benefit on Saturday in Minneapolis. TwinCities.com’s Ross Raihala spoke to him about his long, storied life in the spotlight. Here’s a preview of the Q&A with Valli:

On the enduring nature of his music: “Although the Four Seasons were a band, we were not afraid to go outside of our realm and try new things. Sometimes we recorded with just a small rhythm section and sometimes we expanded and used orchestras and strings. We never really stayed in any one particular place.”

On the accuracy of the “Jersey Boys” script: “Well, in two hours, how can you tell someone’s entire life story? There are a lot of missing elements and, for theatrical purposes, sometimes (events) are not put exactly in the place they originally happened. But it’s pretty accurate, even though there’s so much it doesn’t cover.”
