Frankie Valli Fondly Reminisces About Singing Under Street Lamps in the Early Days

December 7th, 2005

At Jersey Boys’ finale, lead singer Frankie Valli, played by John Lloyd Young, tells the audience that even though he and the Four Seasons had such great chart success, the best times were still when four guys hung out to sing under a street lamp making music for the sheer beauty of the sound.

The real Frankie Valli still feels that way about voices singing together in harmony. In today’s New York Daily News , Valli tells David Hinckley, “There’s magic in four voices singing together. When you get the harmonies right, when it’s hard for the listener even to separate the voices, it’s like you’re all breathing the same breath.”
