In October of this year, legendary Frank Sinatra, who would have been celebrating his 100th birthday today, was honored with the Architects of Sound award at the Grammy Museum. Frankie Valli was among the many stars who attended the gala, hosted by Max Weinberg and Steven Van Zandt.
Frankie Valli spoke about his friendship with the late Frank Sinatra and stated:
“He was the kind of guy that if he took you on as a friend, you were really there and you were a friend,” Valli said. “The people that he has helped over the years is amazing. He’s the only person that I could ever think of that could put so many people together and was so ahead of his time. He was never afraid to take on young people.”
Over the last several decades, Frankie Valli has mentioned what an impact Frank Sinatra’s performance made on him when he was a young boy. According to a People Magazine article feature on Frankie in 2008: He saw a way out early on, when his mom took him to see Frank Sinatra at around age 6. “The stage felt like it was 100 feet above my head,” says Valli. “Sinatra comes out to all the lights, the audience, the roar—everything. After that I sang around the house a lot.”
