Frankie Valli Reflects on His Life & Jersey Boys
January 9th, 2006In Liz Smith’s column today, she talks about her recent meeting with Frankie Valli at Fives on Fifth Avenue. Valli reflects on his dreams as a poor kid living in the Newark projects, his successes and tragedies in his life, and the hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys, showing the ups and downs of the Four Seasons’ climb to fame on stage eight times a week. Valli tells Smith:
-
“At first it was weird seeing me onstage while asking myself – ‘am I really like that?’ But the show is so true to our lives. There ‘we’ all are at the finale making music for the sheer beauty of the harmony. It’s like ‘we’ are all breathing the same breath. And that’s a great life!”
Hi there,
My name is Matt Baldoni and I play guitar in Frankie Valli’s band. I just want to say that I am totally impressed, and so is Frankie, with what you guys are doing here. Wonderful job.
I have NOT seen Jersey Boys yet, but we are on tour on the east coast all of February and we will see it then, before our 3 nights at Caesar’s in Atlantic City. I cannot WAIT! Frankie and others tell me how wonderful it is and I am so looking forward to it.
Anyway, reach out to me if anyone at all wants to know our tour schedule or wants to come to a gig, and Frankie and the rest of us send our best.
Ciao,
Matt Baldoni

How cool it is, Matt, to hear from a member of Frankie’s band and to know that you guys are reading this terrific blog. I’ll be attending your February concerts in West Palm Beach and Sarasota, and I’m really looking forward to it. Regards, Charles Alexander

My husband & I saw Jersey Boys in Chicago yesterday (March 26th 2008) and LOVED it. I felt so sad in parts during the play & so exhiliarated in others.
What life throws at us at times seems unfair. Anyway, thanks for great entertainment!!!!!!
