The one and only Frankie Valli arrived in Sydney this week to see JERSEY BOYS and meet with the cast on his way to Canberra to perform exclusively on tonight at Enlighten – a major new annual event that will showcase Canberra in a whole new light set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Burley Griffin.

The Canberra Times has a terrific interview with Frankie, who reflects on phenomenal career. Here’s a preview:

Those who have seen the musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, will know the show’s version of Valli compares himself to the Energiser Bunny; he keeps going and going.

It’s true, the real Valli does indeed keep going. Now 76, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is still touring. He is performing in Canberra tomorrow as part of autumn festival Enlighten.

He intends to keep touring as long as he feels capable.

”As long as I’m not embarrassed about what I’m doing and I’m able to do it, I’ll do it, even if it’s not a whole lot of shows a year,” he told Today.

His message to his fans in Canberra is, ”I can’t wait to see you guys.” His message to wannabe musicians is, ”Don’t leave school”.

”If you want to be successful, you have to make up your mind that your success is gonna be more important than anything else in your life,” he said.
