Friday Flashback: ‘On Broadway Tonight’ By The Four Seasons!

October 26th, 2012

We’re a week late on posting this, but considering Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons had a triumphant Broadway debut last week, and their run is continuing at the Broadway Theatre through October 27, we thought we’d take everyone back to the Seasons’ archives and feature “On Broadway Tonight” from the Rag Doll Featuring Rag Doll and Ronnie and 10 Other Brand New Hit Songs album. It was also the “B side” of “Let’s Hang On” in 1965.

“On Broadway Tonight,” written by Bob Gaudio and Bob Crewe, was the theme song on the television show of the same name that ran from 1964-65. The program was hosted by crooner Rudy Vallee and featured established stars, as well as up-and-coming performers.

Who knew that 48 years later the legendary group would be making their Broadway debut?!
