“Short Shorts” was also “sampled”, in today’s terminology, later in 1958 by Sheb Wooley’s “Purple People Eater”.
“Short Shorts” also topped out at #3 on Cash Box, spending two weeks at that position. Surprisingly, it had debuted at #35 January 25 on Cash Box, when it’s hardly Short Shorts weather in New Jersey.

According to the comments under the clip on You Tube this is from a movie called “Lets Rock.” Also the guy at the back was Julius LaRosa, again according to the comments.

Thanks, Kay. I recall Tom Austin mentioning “Let’s Rock” in his JBB Exclusive Interview–but had no idea this was from the movie (I should have read the comments )
