Happy Birthday to Bob Gaudio!

November 17th, 2006

Jersey Boys Blog wishes Bob Gaudio a Happy Birthday!

On November 17, 1942, original Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio was born. He shot to musical fame at the age of 15 as a member of the Royal Teens when he wrote the hit “Short Shorts.” As we all know from Jersey Boys, following a chance meeting organized by Joe Pesci, Gaudio teamed up with Frankie Valli, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi, all from Newark, New Jersey, forming the group that eventually became the Four Seasons.

In addition to playing keyboards, recording and co-writing megahits as a member of the Four Seasons, Gaudio has produced six complete albums for Neil Diamond, as well as movie soundtracks for “The Jazz Singer” and “Little Shop of Horrors.” He has also written and/or produced for Frank Sinatra, Roberta Flack, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Barry Manilow.

Along with being one of the driving forces in launching Jersey Boys, Gaudio produced the 2005 Original Cast Recording!
