Happy New Year! Oh, What A Year for Jersey Boys!
December 31st, 2007At the BC/EFA event in October, JBB Special Correspondent Audrey Rockman presented us with this fabulous surprise–a JB poster autographed by the entire cast, The Four Seasons, and Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice! Thank you, Audrey!
Oh What A Year!
By Audrey Rockman, Jersey Boys Blog Special Correspondent
Early this year, reflecting back before the show,
I remember when life seemed mundane & too slow.
No venues to research, no schedules to check.
No glancing the checkbook, no saying ‘What the heck.â€
I got a funny feeling when I bought my first ticket,
I’d be able to walk away- maybe take it or leave it.
It wasn’t that easy for me and for many.
We learned this new love would cost quite a penny.
Casts who were welcoming and also so warm,
Signed autographs and chatted after they would perform.
Hours on the Blog, and much more on the Forum;
I sure wasn’t alone; we had much more than a quorum.
Oh sweet surrender, Oh what a year.
Friends galore, both so far and so near.
All ages, both genders, all incomes & States.
Everyone’s so loving; with all kinds of traits.
Happy New Year to you whether a Jersey girl or a boy.
Check the computer between drinks, it’s an addiction and joy.
It’s alright… don’t be shy. No need to tell lies.
We’re in this together; it’s well worth the prize.
Please know this New Year, the connections are strong;
Found in new friendships, right there… all along.
Thanks Audrey. What a great poem.

And the prize for fan of the year goes to…Audrey Rockman! Always there with the perfect phrase, poem or quote. Happy New Year to you, my dear friend!

You said it with style, you said it with flair,
Rhymes, alliterations…what else could compare?
Some history from Howard? A message from Dee?
A few laughs from Jody, or perhaps Beverley?
A “PLAN” from Irene? A message from Dale?
Pictures from Kathy that complete the whole tale?
Tales of fans meeting & tales of the brunch
Tales of stage doors & “ladies who lunch”
From the Blog to the Forum, we all love to hear
News of our “Jersey Boys” …Have a Happy New Year!

Audrey, Howard, Lulu! Your literary talents are inspiring! Could there be a collaboration on a book – “Literary Awakening: Inspirations from Jersey Boys Fans” Audrey Rockman, Lulu Thompson and Howard Tucker.
A best seller for sure. IE

Thanks, all! Additional thanks to Irene and Jennifer Naimo who helped get the JB poster signed, sealed and delivered… and to Lulu for writing such a creative and clever encore! (Va Tech alumnae think alike, I’d say.)

Thanks for the compliments! You all are such a fun and appreciative audience! And I love the VT reference, Audrey, although it’s halftime at the Orange Bowl and I’m not very happy right now! I had to turn to the Blog to get myself in a better mood…and as usual, it worked! Thanks, friends:)
