Help JB Vegas Stage Manager Mandy Horan Raise Money for Childhood Cancer!
February 14th, 2009JERSEY BOYS Vegas Stage Manager Mandy Horan is getting ready to say goodbye to her hair to raise money for St. Baldrick’s–a charity that raises funds for pediatric cancer. Let’s help Mandy reach her $5,500 goal! Here’s a message from Mandy asking for our help!
Hello!
Yep you heard it right- I am going bald in solidarity with children with cancer who typically lose their hair during treatment. But I need YOUR help!! I am asking/pleading/begging my friends/family/coworkers to sponsor me bald!
“Tell me more, tell me more!!!”
OK, OK!! The charity is St. Baldrick’s, it is the worlds largest volunteer driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. I am raising money similar to a jog-a-thon, but we’ll call it a bald-a-thon! On March 7th I will be shorn at McMullans pub and all the funds I raise go to St. Baldricks. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
Please, check out my page on the St. Baldrick’s website. Here is the link: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/shavee_info.php?ParticipantKey=2009-56525
From my page you simply click “Donate” and follow the prompts. It is a piece of cake to donate with your credit card and you will be emailed your tax receipt for your records. You can also donate via phone or mail it in using the downloadable form.
When you are on my page take a moment to click on the “Children Honored” tab and you will see some of these amazing, brave children. I wrote a quick note on why I picked each of these children to honor.
I know with the struggling economy it is tough to dig deep and find something to give. Even $1 or $5 WILL make a difference. That could be the cup of coffee or sandwich that feeds the researcher. $10 could be some lab equipment. This all adds up so quickly and really does help. If you absolutely can’t donate, please, please, please do me a favor and tell 5 people that you have a crazy, curly haired female friend who is shaving her head to raise money for childhood cancer- you never know who is waiting for just the right thing to put their money towards.
Thank you so much!!!
Mandy
I made my contribution. GO MANDY! We are so proud of you and will miss your beautiful locks (for a short while).
