JERSEY BOYS Broadway’s Jarrod Spector has tweeted that his final performance as Frankie Valli will be Sunday, December 30, 2012! Jarrod has performed the role of Valli for six years and over 1,500 performances in the JB national tour, Chicago, and Broadway.
We wish Jarrod all the best in his future endeavors and will be saluting him with Jarrod Spector Day on Jersey Boys Blog on 12/30!
Dominic Scaglione Jr. will be portraying “Frankie Valli” for performances between December 31st and January 10th and John Michael Dias will be making his Broadway debut in the role during the matinee performances on January 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 12th.
This is a tough note to write — such a mix of happiness for three amazing gentlemen, a little sadness that Jarrod is leaving Jersey Boys. Starting in San Francisco, all three of these outstanding performers have been major performers in my Jersey Boys saga. Jarrod Spector was interestingly my “first,” and as of now my “last” or more accurately “most recent” I’ve seen him in three different cities. I’ve probably seen John Michael Dias more often than any other — in 5 different cities — so great to see that he will be on Broadway. And Dominic Scaglione is simply outstanding as Frankie — talking to him just a few weeks ago outside the August Wilson added a special note to the many times I saw him in Chicago. As above, three great gentlemen, a touch of sadness but congratulations to Jarrod Spector — and best wishes for the future.

He is undoubted the best of the best at this Frankie Valli thing. I’m sure we have not seen the last of Jarrod portraying the immortal Frankie Valli.
