Jersey Boys Becomes 22nd Longest-Running Broadway Show TONIGHT!

Jersey Boys LogoNews from JERSEY BOYS: JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical, will surpass The Producers with 2,503 performances, becoming the 22nd longest-running show in Broadway history and the longest running show in Jujamcyn Theaters’ history, following the performance on Tuesday, November 29.

JERSEY BOYS opened on Broadway to critical acclaim on November 6, 2005 at the August Wilson Theatre. The show is currently playing in New York; Las Vegas; London; Sydney, Australia; in cities across the U.S. on two National Tours, and a production will open in Auckland, New Zealand in April, 2012.

The Broadway cast of JERSEY BOYS is led by Matt Bogart (Nick Massi), Quinn VanAntwerp (Bob Gaudio), Andy Karl (Tommy DeVito) and Jarrod Spector (Frankie Valli) as The Four Seasons; with Peter Gregus and Mark Lotito. The cast also includes Miles Aubrey, Erik Bates, Brad Bass, Cara Cooper, Ken Dow, John Edwards, Russell Fischer, Katie O’Toole, Joe Payne, Jessica Rush, Dominic Scaglione Jr., Nathan Scherich, Sara Schmidt and Taylor Sternberg.

JERSEY BOYS is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and is directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.

  3. I think that it’s interesting to note that West Side Story only ran for 700+ performances (I believe) yet the movie version was so successful that it turned it into a classic musical.

    One could only hope that the Jersey Boys movie can do the play or the story justice and even surpass expectations.
