Jersey Boys Chicago Performance Cancelled Tonight; Theater Evacuated Due to Suspicious Packages

October 6th, 2009

Breaking News from WLS in Chicago: Two suspicious packages forced the evacuation of the Bank of America Theater and the cancellation of Tuesday night’s show in Chicago’s theater district. That’s where the musical Jersey Boys is playing.

Chicago police and the fire department were on the scene on Tuesday night.

Two suspicious boxes were found in the alley next to the theater. Hazmat teams were called in to check them out.

Witnesses tell ABC7 the evacuation took place at intermission.

Theater officials say the show has been cancelled for the night. Ticket holders can contact the office in Wednesday for more information about refunds or a rescheduling.

  1. Yikes! I went to Chicago in late August to see the show and a baseball game. I stayed at the hotel which is co-located with the theatre. I wonder if it was evacuated as well. I’ll have to google that.
