Jersey Boys Heads to Hershey, PA; Sneak Peek of Brad Weinstock’s Interview with LancasterOnline.com

February 24th, 2013

Beginning this Tuesday, February 26, the JERSEY BOYS second national tour will be playing the Hersehy Theatre through March 3. Reporter Jane Holahan has a terrific interview with Brad Weinstock, who plays “Frankie Valli” in the company. Check out a sneak peek below:

It’s not easy singing Frankie Valli songs.

Just ask Brad Weinstock, who’s playing Frankie in “Jersey Boys,” which comes to the Hershey Theatre Tuesday and runs through March 3.

“It’s a 24-hour a day job. I make sure I sleep 10 hours a night, I’ve got a humidifier and I need tons of hydration,” says Weinstock. “It’s kind of a nun’s lifestyle.”

But if he doesn’t pamper his vocal chords, that falsetto voice, which is such a part of the sound of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, won’t sound right.

“Singing at the far extremes of a man’s range is kind of like a musical marathon,” Weinstock says. “It takes conditioning.”
