Jersey Boys in Ft. Lauderdale Simply Gets Everything Right!

April 11th, 2009

Jersey Boys Logo Beau Higgins of BroadwayWorld.com stated that JERSEY BOYS is one of those shows that he feared he might not like, but this notion was dispelled about sixty seconds into the show! This musical is a champion from the top to the final curtain call. Jersey Boys packs wallops on many levels and it keeps ‘letting the audience have it.’

The Tony winning Best Musical, simply gets everything right. Higgins said he would never have imagined that the story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, would bring together a creative team that would helm a theatrical landmark. After this show, he will certainly never think of jukebox musicals as something to fear. Greatness can happen in jukebox musicals, and it is on display in Jersey Boys.

Perhaps the most fascinating achievement is how beautifully the book works. Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice have pulled off quite a feat here. The book is compelling, and witty and never fails to be a perfect element in framing the next sensational number to take place.

  1. We saw Jersey Boys on the Premier night at Broward Center for Performing Arts. We were a little skeptical as to the possible quality of the touring cast but was completely blown away by the entire cast. From the moment the show opened until the rousing, standing ovation the audience was enraptured! The electricity that the audience generated was amazing. We could not get enough. Mr. Bwarie gave a riveting performance as Frankie Valli, but the supporting cast was equally as good, especially Josh Franklin as Bob Guardio. We are looking for tickets to see it again.

  3. This is a wonderful show and you can see it over and over with all the casts and enjoy. The touring cast is first rate and I have seen them in various forms 9 times and will catch up with them again in Atlanta. They are gracious and charming at the stage door also.
