Jody Feinberg of The Patriot Ledger notes that the JERSEY BOYS national tour will be running from July 23 through September 26 at Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center’s Shubert Theatre!

Feinberg recently spoke with Joseph Leo Bwarie, who plays the legendary Frankie Valli in the national tour of JERSEY BOYS about the enduring appeal of The Four Seasons’ music and what it’s like to play the pop icon on stage.

“It’s such amazing music that it never left the music scene,” said Joseph Bwarie, 31, who stars as Frankie Valli, whose falsetto defined the group. “When I was a kid, my dad would have the oldies station on in the car and I’d listen to their songs. It’s just so great to hear that it makes you feel good.”

“We start with the bright colors of summer and by the time we get to winter, the color has subsided into black, white and gray,” said Bwarie, whose season is winter. “We go from the vibrancy of being young and in the peak of fame to realizing that success doesn’t mean happiness.”

“I feel a huge responsibility to represent Frankie Valli well because he’s alive,” said Bwarie, who sings in 27 of the 34 songs and is off stage only for nine minutes. “He’s a man with an enormous amount of talent, who was ground-breaking and who is still performing.”
