Jersey Boys National Tour Will Head To Sacramento!

July 2nd, 2007

BroadwayWorld.com reports that Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will premiere in Sacramento in September, 2007 as part of a National Tour.

The musical will be presented at the Community Center Theater by California Musical Theater, the region’s largest nonprofit arts organization, as part of its Broadway Sacramento Season. The engagement will run September 7-22, and single-show tickets will go on sale on Monday, July 30. The show is currently available to Broadway Sacramento subscribers and to groups of 12 or more.

  1. This was probably the worst kept secret ever. All the show regulars in the Bay Area knew about this stint once the ink dried on the papers. It was mentioned in the threads over at Broadwayworld.com, Eric Gutman mentioned it in his blog, and Rick said it at one of the apperances they did in the city. But I’m glad I won’t have to travel to LA to see the first tour again and get to see how Steve fits in with them.

  2. So happy! That theatre is so awful and ’70s inside, but the outside is certainly more welcoming than the Curran’s. ;) (If only the weather would cooperate…)

  3. I’ve heard the rumors in the past, but even though we do not have the full element of surprise, I’m extremely happy with this announcement!

Now, it will be fun to see the production in a different light where they do not have use of a trapdoor (someone reported this on Broadwayworld.com)like the Curran and Virginia/August Wilson. I would think that the cast and additional stage crew would definitely make this an enjoyable experience for us, if that was the case.

I’m ready to purchase those tix on Monday, July 30th! Good thing premium tix are on par with the prices at the Curran, and a bit less than the August Wilson. Never been to that specific theatre before, but am sure that the Jersey Boys will brighten up any venue!
