Jersey Boys Tour Marvelous in Minneapolis!

May 3rd, 2015

JB national tour is playing at the Orpheum through today & critics are raving! Check out excerpts from two sensational reviews below:

StarTribune.com: That naturally dramatic saga, told bluntly with a few embellishments, helps to explain why “Jersey Boys” remains a cut above the class of jukebox theater. Oh, and there’s all that music, too. It helps that you feel at moments as if you are sitting at a Four Seasons gig in 1965. Somehow, that never gets old.

BroadwayWorld.com: This touring cast is quite awesome; the four leads are sharp and funny and sound fantastic delivering that trademark Four Seasons sounds. Hayden Milanes takes Frankie from a naive kid to a weary man at the end of his career, who never stops working on the dream. And that voice! Frankie Valli’s distinctive voice is hard to imitate, and Hayden doesn’t just do that, but brings his own smooth sound (he shares the role with alternate Miguel Jarquin-Moreland, who performs one of the two shows on Saturdays and Sundays, because no human voice should be asked to accomplish this feat twice a day!). Matthew Dailey is a lovable rogue as Tommy, imbuing the role with enough charm that we overlook Tommy’s shortcomings. Keith Hines’s Nick is the strong silent type, with a deep voice and distinctive way of clipping his words when he does speak. Drew Seeley** has a sweet voice (singing my favorite song “Cry For Me”) and innocent charm as the young Bob, who matures over the course of the show into the brains behind the group.

  1. Happy Birthday Frankie Valli!

I saw Jersey Boys in MPLS. I’m a Jersey Girl (Jersey born and raised) This production, with Miguel as Frankie, brought me to tears as I relived my adolescence listening to the Four Seasons on 77 WABC with Cousin Brucie. Thank you for the outstanding performances by the Minneapolis cast!
